Drums + Beats + Rhythm = Life!

At just 23years old, Tory has already had a colourful career, sharing the stage all over the world with a host of inspirational artists. Not only has Tory begun to make his mark on the live arena, with in studios he has laid the foundations to what will over time become a vast variety of works ranging in genre and stretching the usual bounds associated with rhythm.

Tory has got the determination and motivation to be the best drummer in the country and a real opportunity to be a major influence on the drumming world globally.

Farewell Daniel, Welcome Jester

We are sad to announce that Daniel is leaving Decortica due to other professional endeavours requiring his full attention. As a founding member, Daniel has brought a lot of inspiration to the group and his passion and talent have been intrinsic to many of our achievements to date. We firmly believe he is one of the foremost drummers in New Zealand, and expect that he will continue to do amazing things in music on a global scale in his new role with our friends Battle Circus. Daniel's fun-loving attitude and analytical mind are some of the qualities which make him an exceptional individual. We have been fortunate to work with him on several great projects, such as "A New Aesthetic," and he will continue to work with us on our new album "Love Hotel". He will be missed as a collaborator but he won't be far from our lives; we’re excited to see his career continue to flourish.

Replacing Daniel is Tory 'Jester' Staples. Tory joined the wider Decortica family earlier this year and we are delighted to have him in the engine room. Tory is well known locally as a session musician, manager, and promoter. As a drummer he has toured and recorded internationally, working across a variety of genres. This new opportunity gives him the chance to focus on his first love: making an awesome racket! He is a percussive force to be reckoned with and with his personable nature he fits right in. Tory and Daniel have been working closely during the handover period and we are all stoked that Tory is bringing his own monolithic style to the table.

This is an exciting time for the band with the new album soon to be released and plans to play shows overseas in 2010. We can't wait to share this music with you; it's raw, progressive and a natural evolution for us. Stay tuned for the new single "Monster in a Pretty Dress."

As always, thank you so much for your continuing support. See you soon.
